PSA Iloilo and ACRI Take a Step Towards Sustainability:

In celebration of the 35th Civil Registration Month (CRM) with the theme “Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System,” the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Iloilo Provincial Statistical Office, in collaboration with the Association of Civil Registrars in Iloilo (ACRI), took a meaningful step toward environmental conservation by organizing a Mangrove Planting Activity on February 7, 2025.

One hundred twenty (120) mangrove seedlings were planted at the Leganes Integrated Katunggan Ecopark (LIKE) in Nabitasan, Leganes, Iloilo, reinforcing PSA Iloilo and ACRI’s commitment to environmental sustainability, community engagement, and corporate social responsibility. This initiative is a reminder that civil registration is more than just documenting lives—it is also about protecting the world where those lives unfold.

PSA Iloilo extends its deepest gratitude to all Local Civil Registrars, Local Government Unit of Leganes, and valued partners for their unwavering support in making the event a success. A special appreciation is also given to Mr. Wilson A. Batislaon, Leganes Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer (MENRO) and Presidential Lingkod Bayan awardee, for his invaluable contribution and dedication to environmental conservation.

PSA Iloilo with Couples that joined Tree-Planting for Love and Sustainability in Tigbauan, Iloilo

Tree Planting for Love and Sustainability in Tigbauan:

Meanwhile, in Tigbauan, Iloilo, love and sustainability intertwined as 80 soon-to-wed couples participated in the “Tanum kag Magmuad 3” initiative, planting Malunggay and Lumina trees as part of their commitment to a greener future. This heartfelt activity, organized by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of Tigbauan, in partnership with the Local Civil Registry Office, PSA, LGU Tigbauan, and the Philippine Coast Guard, serves as a symbolic pledge—not just of their love and commitment to each other but also of their responsibility to protect the environment.

By incorporating environmental awareness into significant life milestones, these initiatives underscore the power of sustainability and responsible community participation. They serve as a reminder that civil registration, community engagement, and environmental stewardship go hand in hand.

As PSA Iloilo and its partners continue to champion civic and ecological responsibility, these initiatives are planting not just trees, but also the seeds of a greener, more resilient future for generations to come.
