The National ID mobile registration in Antique temporarily stopped beginning this April, while the Fixed Registration Center (FRC) continues to operate.
The FRC is located at Eagle’s Hotel, Ground floor, Bantayan Rd., Barangay 2, San Jose de Buenavista. It is open from Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
In the first quarter of 2025, a total of 8,043 individuals in the province were registered to the National ID system with five (5) registration kits operating, exceeding the average daily output. They were among the 544,725 persons in the province who were already registered to the System as of end of March 2025.
Despite this accomplishment, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) faces another challenge in implementing the National ID system, particularly in meeting the target of printing 15 million National ID cards after the termination of the contract between the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the card printing supplier in August 2024. The central bank is responsible for printing the National ID, with the PSA taking charge of gathering the data that goes into the cards.
The PSA is currently facilitating the procurement of a decentralized printing solution wherein the National ID printing will be done in the provinces. Meanwhile, the National ID operation shifts to use case activities including the National ID Authentication Services, which the Local Government Units, National Government Agencies and the Private Sector may adopt to securely authenticate individuals (e.g. transacting clients or customers).
These authentication services provide a higher level of assurance in identity verification, enhancing both trust and security in the process. These are available at no cost to interested government institutions and entities that register as Relying Parties of the National ID System.
