The Philippine Statistics Authority – Antique is currently conducting field interviews to 387 sample households in the province as part of the Labor Force Survey (LFS) that is expected to end by January 31, 2025.
The LFS is a monthly and quarterly survey of households that measures the current state of the Philippine labor market. Data from the survey provides information on major labor market trends such as labor force participation and unemployment rates, hours worked, past industries and occupations of the currently unemployed persons.
As to the latest survey results, in November 2024, the country’s employment rate was estimated at 96.8 percent and the unemployment rate dropped to 3.2 percent in, an improvement from 3.6 percent in the same month recorded the previous year.
Underemployment also fell to 10.8 percent, down from 11.7 percent a year ago and 12.6 percent in October 2024 signaling better job quality and fewer workers seeking additional hours or jobs.
PSA encourages the public, especially the sample households, to participate in the survey and other data collection activities being conducted by the agency. The agency also assures that all collected personal information are processed in accordance with the law and other issuances, and that responses shall always be treated as with utmost confidentiality
