Statistical Researchers conduct interviews for the April 2025 Labor Force Survey.

The LFS is a nationwide survey of households conducted by the PSA involving approximately 44,000 sample households throughout the country to gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population that aims to provide a quantitative framework for the preparation of plans, and formulation of policies affecting the labor market. The major data items being gathered are on employment, unemployment, underemployment and labor force participation.

In Antique, a total of 392 households have been selected as respondents for this undertaking. These households will be visited by six (6) trained Statistical Researchers, who will conduct data collection using the Computer-Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) method. This digital approach ensures more efficient, accurate, and secure data gathering in the field.

For the April 2025 round, a special emphasis has been placed on tourism employment. A set of rider questions will be included to expand information gathered on tourism employment as reported to the Philippine Tourism Satellite Accounts (PTSA). It will identify employment in other tourism-related enterprises, gather information on tourism employment on a local level, and determine employment variables such as sex, age, education level, occupation and employment status.

Tourism is recognized to be an important source of job creation, as it provides opportunities to people of any status. In 2022, employment in tourism industries in the Philippines reached to 11.4% of the country’s total employment or employing 5.3 million Filipinos. With its contribution to the economy, more information on tourism employment is highly necessary.

The PSA respectfully seeks the cooperation and support of all selected respondents for this important undertaking. We assure the public that all information provided will be kept strictly confidential and used solely for statistical purposes, in accordance with Republic Act No. 10625, also known as the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013.
