The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Antique conducted fisheries surveys for the second quarter of 2024. This was to ensure uniformity in implementing the various field operations procedure. The fisheries surveys were the following: Quarterly Commercial Fisheries Survey (QCFS), Quarterly Municipal Fisheries Survey (QMFS), Quarterly Inland Fisheries Survey (QIFS), and Quarterly Aquaculture Survey (QAqS).

On 06 June 2024, PSA Antique personnel together with eight (8) hired  statistical researchers (SRs) attended the training on QAqS Seaweeds Survey in Caluya, Antique. There are a total of 1,016 number of samples for QAqS and 822 from these samples are mainly in Caluya.

Moreover, on 10 - 11 June, the 2024 Operational Training on Fisheries Surveys was conducted at Eagle's Place, San Jose, Antique. The activity was attended by seven (7) SRs who will collect and process the data gathered.

The data collection was conducted through face-to-face interview by SRs.  Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) was utilized for QCFS, QMFS, and QIFS while Paper-Assisted Personal Interviewing (PAPI)  was used for QAqS.

The QCFS and QMFS were conducted once a week from April to June 2024, while the QIFS and QAqS were undertaken from 10 to 24 June 2024.
