
Hired Statistical Researchers with PSA Antique personnel during the Third Level Training on 2025 Livestock and Poultry Production Surveys last 26-27 June.
To generate estimates on supply, disposition, average farmgate price, and other related data of livestock and poultry commodities at the household level and from establishments, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Antique conducted the 2025 Livestock and Poultry Surveys (LPS) for the Second Quarter. There are two surveys for LPS; these are LPS Household (LPS:H) and LPS Establishment (LPS:E).
During the first quarter (Q1), the livestock production in the province decreased by 2.7 percent with total volume of production of 511,157 metric tons from 524,996 metric tons in Q1 2024.
Cattle production increased by 1.3 percent, registering at 54,785 metric tons in Q1 2025 from 54,058 metric tons in the same quarter from the previous year. Meanwhile, Goat production also grew by 1.2 percent with 14,487 metric tons volume of production in Q1 2025.
Moreover, Carabao production was estimated at 28,518 metric tons in Q1 2025, declined by 0.2 percent compared to 28,584 metric tons in Q1 2024. Similarly, Hog production decreased by 3.9 percent, registering 403,789 metric tons in Q1 2025 from 419,369 metric tons in the same quarter of the previous year.
The poultry production of the province in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 8.5 percent with 771,048 metric tons total volume of production from 705,296 metric tons in Q1 2024.
Chicken, Chicken Egg, and Duck production increased compared to Q1 2024. Chicken production grew by 8.0 percent with 550,499 metric tons, Chicken Egg production was estimated at 201,604 metric tons, increased by 10.8 percent compared to 179,883 metric tons in Q1 2025. Similarly, Duck production grew by 2.3 percent, from 6,348 metric tons in Q1 2024 to 6,411 metric tons in Q1 2025.
On the contrary, production of Duck eggs decreased by 2.3 percent with 12,504 metric tons from 12, 788 metric tons in the same quarter of the previous year.
The enumeration is currently ongoing for LPS:H from July 01 to 09, and LPS:E was conducted last June 19-30. The data collection is conducted through face-to-face interview by SRs utilizing Computer-Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI).
