The economy of Negros Occidental grew by 6.9 percent in 2023, faster than the 6.8 percent growth in previous year. The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Negros Occidental was estimated at PhP 263.52 billion in 2023, PhP 17.10 billion higher than in 2022. (Figure 1)

Among the economies in Western Visayas, Negros Occidental had the biggest share in the regional economy accounting to 25.7 percent. This was followed by the province of Iloilo, City of Iloilo, and City of Bacolod, comprising 21.0 percent, 15.6 percent, and 14.3 percent, respectively.
