SAN JOSE, Antique – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Antique, together with the Provincial Planning and Development Office spearheaded the opening of the 35^th National Statistics Month (NSM) in the Province of Antique on 07 October 2024 at the lobby of the Antique Old Capitol.

The activity highlighted the ribbon cutting of the NSM Statistical Exhibit, led by Dr. Randy Tacogdoy, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Antique, EnP Bienvinido Nallos, Acting PPD Coordinator of PPDO Antique, and Mr. Rudyard Naig, Statistician IV of PPDO Antique. The exhibit will be available to the public until the end of October.

This year’s NSM theme, “Advancing Data and Statistics Through Digital Transformation: A Road to an Empowered Nation” highlights the significant role of technology in advancing the statistical system and the quality of statistics through the adoption of digital tools and platforms optimizing government services to improve the accuracy, timeliness and accessibility of statistics. Ultimately, enabling decision- and policy-makers, and other stakeholders to craft evidence-based and data-driven policies for an empowered nation.

NSM was first observed in 1990 pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 signed by then President Corazon C. Aquino on September 20, 1990, Declaring the Month of October of Every Year as the National Statistics Month.
