The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office VI
(PSA RSSO VI) announces the conduct of Press Conference on the
February 2025 Inflation Report of Western Visayas on 17 March, Monday, 10:00 AM
at PSA Learning and Development Center, 2nd Flr. J. Villanueva Bldg., Iznart St., Iloilo
City. Statistical Specialist II Miguel S. Gallego I of PSA RSSO VI will be the resource
person for the event.
The region produced the highest major/priority crop from sugarcane in the fourth
quarter of 2024. Compared to its production last year of the same quarter, the
leading crop dropped by 13.3 percent, registering 5,409,371 metric tons from
6,239,737 metric tons. Similarly, Banana with 110,939 metric tons decreased by
0.8 percent; Watermelon with 4,166 metric tons decreased by 1.5 percent,
Calamansi with 1,239 metric tons decreased by 0.9 percent and Coffee with 1,113
metric tons volume of production during the same period decreased by 3.9 percent.
Western Visayas' headline inflation decelerated to 2.7 percent in February 2025, from
3.6 percent in January 2025. The regional average inflation from January to February 2025 is
3.1 percent. The inflation rate in February 2024 was also at 2.7 percent.
Iloilo City, February 13, 2025 – The Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical
Services Office VI (PSA RSSO 6) joined the Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas Job Fair,
providing National ID registration, updating, authentication services, and a Civil
Registration Information Booth to support job seekers and government service
beneficiaries.
27 May 2025– Guimaras. 27 May 2025– Guimaras. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Guimaras has achieved full coverage of the 2024 Census of Population and Housing (POPCEN) and Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) operations across all 98 barangays of the province, with 100% completion of all data collection and processing activities as of April 2025.
26 May 2025– Guimaras. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office, with facilitation and technical support from the PSA Regional Statistical Services Office VI (RSSO VI) mobile registration team, successfully processed 551 Civil Registry documents requested during the Government Service Day (GSD) held on May 20–21, 2025, at the Main Events Area, Capitol Grounds, San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.
22 May 2025– Guimaras. Food inflation in Guimaras continued declining in April 2025, posting a -2.1% for all income households and -2.2% for low-income households, down from -0.9% and
1.0% respectively in March, marking the second consecutive month of deflation in the province
based on the latest data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
21 May 2025– Guimaras. Inflation for Guimaras’ bottom 30% income households eased further to 0.2% in April 2025, continuing its downward trend from 0.7% in March and a sharp drop from 8.6% in April 2024, bringing the average inflation to 1.6%, based on the latest price statistics of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
20 May 2025– Guimaras. Guimaras' inflation rate accelerated to 0.5 percent at the start of the second quarter of 2025, up from 0.2 percent in March, driven mainly by price hikes in heavily weighted non-food items, according to the latest data from the Philippine Statistics Authority.
