The economy of Guimaras grew by 7.9 percent in 2023 from its 2022 level, equivalent to an increase of PhP 1.28 billion to the province’s total Gross Domestic Product (GDP), from PhP 16.14 billion in 2022 to PhP 17.42 billion in 2023. The economy of the province was driven by the Services, which contributed 55.2 percent share to the total provincial GDP. (Figure 1)

 

Among all provinces and Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs) in Western Visayas, Guimaras posted the fastest growth in Services with 12.4 percent growth. (Figure 2)

Further, among the 16 industries, the fastest growth was observed in Accommodation and food service activities with 26.6 percent. This was followed by Other services with 25.4 percent, and Professional and business services with 15.8 percent. On the other hand, Mining and quarrying and Agriculture, forestry, and fishing posted declines of  0.4 percent and 0.7 percent, respectively.
