The Philippine Statistics Authority(PSA) – Iloilo Provincial Statistical Office is set to conduct the 2024 Functional Literacy, Education, and Mass Media Survey (FLEMMS) this October 2024. This significant survey aims to assess the literacy levels, educational attainment, and media consumption patterns of residents in the region, providing essential data that will help shape future policies and programs.

To ensure the successful implementation of the survey, a team of 79 personnel will be deployed across the province and city. This includes 13 team supervisors and 66 statistical researchers, all working diligently to ensure that data collection is thorough, precise, and efficiently managed.

In total, the team will survey 1,551 households in Iloilo Province and 1,630 households in Iloilo City. The information gathered from these households will offer crucial insights into the educational status and media habits of the population, aiding local government units and policymakers in making informed, evidence-based decisions. The PSA emphasizes that the involvement of residents is vital in helping better understand the educational landscape and media consumption trends in Iloilo, which will ultimately benefit the community as a whole.

The FLEMMS is a cornerstone survey that plays a pivotal role in the development of future programs and services, particularly those focused on education and public information. The cooperation of Iloilo’s residents is essential for ensuring the success of this initiative and for guiding improvements that will impact the community in the years to come.
