Dr. Randy M. Tacogdoy reported the Antique’s 2023 Full Year Poverty Statistics and the September 2024 Inflation Rate on 16 October

 

San Jose, Antique – As part of the 35th National Statistics Month, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Antique conducted a statistical conference to discuss the Antique’s 2023 Full Year Poverty Statistics and the September 2024 Inflation Rate on 16 October at ANSTEC Bldg., Brgy. 1, San Jose

Dr. Randy M. Tacogdoy, Chief Statistical Specialist, was the resource person during the conference. He discussed that in 2023 there were 20,800 poor Antiqueño families, the poverty incidence dropped from 18.2 percent in 2021 to 13.8 percent in 2023. This means that 14 out of 100 Antiqueño families are considered poor.

 

He also highlighted that the inflation rate in the province of Antique eased to 2.4 percent in September 2024, from 5.3 percent in August 2024. The recorded inflation rate in September 2023 was higher at 6.5 percent.

The conference was attended by the Provincial Statistics Committee (PSC) members, tri-media partners, and PSA Antique personnel. It encouraged open discussions among participants and emphasized the importance of working together to address economic issues. PSA Antique aims to improve understanding of statistics and support informed decision-making in the region.
