SAN JOSE, Antique— The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Antique Provincial Statistical Office conducts the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) Provincial Level Training (PLT) for Map and Data Processing from 26 to 30 August 2024 at Adelaide Tourists and Travelers Inn, San Jose, Antique.

Dr. Randy M. Tacogdoy, Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Antique, welcomes the Data and Map Data Processors to the PLT while reminding them of their important contribution to the local development by ensuring that the data processed are of the highest quality.

The activity is divided into two training sessions, during which the Data Processors attended the first three days while the Map Data Processors (MDP) attended the last two days.

Hired Data Processors (DP) and Map Data Processors (MDP) participate in the Provincial Level Training of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS Map and Data Processing in San Jose, Antique.

The trainees were equipped with general concepts and definitions for conducting enumeration and geotagging of households and buildings. More importantly, the participants were trained on navigating technical procedures in conducting map digitization and validation checks using QGIS and the Data Processing System of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS respectively.

Data Processors navigate the Data Processing System to be utilized in the processing of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS data.

Data processing and map data processing are crucial steps that follow the data collection phase. The data processing activities are essential in facilitating completeness checks, validation, consistency checks, updating/correction of inconsistencies, and further scrutiny of data and maps.
