The PSA-initiated activity was attended by the Punong Barangays, Barangay Secretaries, and Barangay Kagawads of San Remigio to be appraised on the proper accomplishment of the forms.
In his message, Mayor Margarito Mission Jr. applauded the government's initiatives in recognizing the need to update local-level data for a more effective planning and efficient monitoring at the barangay level. He added that it is the best time for the barangays to practice and internalize data-driven tools such as the BPQ and SFGP.
Dr. Randy M. Tacogdoy, Provincial Statistics Officer, highlighted the importance of the participation of the municipal and barangay officials in the data collection activities of the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) as it will provide a more precise view of the developments and priority needs of the barangays.
The collected data on barangay profiles shall be used to update the urban-rural classification of barangays. Meanwhile, the listing of service facilities and government projects shall serve as a reference file in the conduct of the geotagging of service facilities and government projects for the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS.
BPQ data collection and SFGP listing operations will run from 06 May to 05 June 2024.
