To gather data on the volume and value of production of fisheries in the Province of Antique during the third quarter of 2024, the Philippine Statistics Authority – Antique conducted the four Fisheries Surveys: the Quarterly Commercial Fisheries Survey (QCFS), Quarterly Municipal Fisheries Survey (QMFS), Quarterly Inland Fisheries Survey (QIFS), and Quarterly Aquaculture Survey (QAqS).

Prior to the field operations, the six hired Statistical Researchers (SRs) assigned in the mainland of Antique attended the operational training at Eagles’ Hotel, San Jose, Antique On 09 to 11 September.
On the other hand, nine SRs assigned in the island municipality of Caluya attended the training on 11 September, in La Isla Resort, Caluya, Antique where the training focused on QAqS - Seaweeds Survey. Caluya is known as among the country’s top seaweeds producer.

The use of Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) will be implemented for QAqS for the first time this quarter.
There are a total of 1,028 sample operators for QAqS and 822 from these are located in Caluya. For QMFS there are 10 samples, QCFS has seven samples, and 57 samples for QIFS.
The data collection was conducted through face-to-face interview by SRs to gather information on the current situation by major species of the four fisheries subsectors (commercial, municipal and inland fisheries, and aquaculture).
The QCFS and QMFS were conducted once a week from July to September 2024, while the QIFS and QAqS is still ongoing from 11 to 27 September 2024.
