As with the previous MCCB convenings, the second convening provided further information on the Census of Population (POPCEN) including the data items to be collected, updated objectives, who will be enumerated, and the updated timeline of activities.
In February 2024, a press release from the Presidential Communications Office stated that the PSA has been ordered by the President of the Philippines, H.E. Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., to conduct census this 2024 to determine the updated list of 4Ps beneficiaries.
Simultaneously, the POPCEN will be conducted alongside the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) wherein the census of households and generation of data at the local level will serve as a basis for targeting beneficiaries of government programs geared towards poverty alleviation and economic development.
The 2024 POPCEN-CBMS will cover all barangays nationwide in every city and municipality with the enumeration set to begin on 15 July 2024.
