Hired Statistical Researchers with PSA Antique personnel during the Third Level Training on 2025 Second Quarter Crops Production Survey last 10 to 11 June.

The Philippine Statistics Authority – Antique Provincial Statistical Office conducted the Crops Production Survey (CrPS) for the Second Quarter (Q2) of 2025. On 10 to 11 June, PSA Antique personnel together with 11 hired statistical researchers (SRs) attended the 3rd Level Training on 2025 CrPS. These SRs will collect data from 860 sample households and two sample establishments.
 

The province produced the highest major/priority crop from coconut in the first quarter of 2025. Compared to the first quarter (Q1) production in 2024, the leading crop dropped by 0.05 percent, registering 40,379 metric tons from 40,398 metric tons. Conversely, Sugarcane, the province's second-highest volume of production, grew by 0.17 percent, recording 36,724 metric tons this year from 36,663 metric tons. Likewise, Banana increased by 1.06 percent from 3,518 metric tons to 3,556 metric tons, Mongo grew by 0.01 percent, Squash Fruit increased by 1.31 percent, and Singkamas increased by 0.28 percent. 

The general purpose of the CrPS is to generate estimates on the volume of production, area planted/harvested, number of bearing trees/hills/vines, and farmgate prices for crops  other than palay and corn at the national and sub-national levels. The data generated from CrPS are inputs to the Value of Production in Philippine Agriculture and Fisheries, and accordingly to the preparation of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The data collection is conducted through face-to-face interview by SRs utilizing Computer-Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI).
