SAN JOSE, Antique – Province of Antique hosted the 3rd Regional Midyear Convention on Civil Registration of Local Civil Registrars (LCRs) and Staff in Western Visayas (WV), last 17 to 19 July at Eagle’s Hotel, San Jose de Buenavista, Antique. The theme for this midyear’s convention was, “CRVS: Paving the way to Seamless Services in WV.” The convention served as a vital platform for the discussion of recent developments, challenges, and best practices in civil registration.
Moreover, this convention was graced by the presence of several notable figures, including the Governor and Vice Governor of the province, Gov. Rhodora J. Cadio and Vice Gov. Engr. Edgar Denosta, DPA. Along with them were Atty. Eliezer Ambatali- DIR III of PSA Legal Service, Nelida Amolar, OIC - Regional Director PSA RSSO VI, William Jaro - CRASD Chief PSA RSSO VI, Rowelito Jimenez, Administrative Officer IV of PSA Central Office (Training Specialist), Dr. Randy Tacogdoy, Chief Statistical Specialist (CSS) of PSA Antique, John Campomanes, CSS of Negros Occidental, Supervising SS – OIC Ma. Goretti Novilla from PSA Iloilo, Nelida Losare, CSS from Guimaras, Senior SS Rosiebelle Beluso from PSA Capiz and CSS Engr. Antonet Catubuan from PSA Aklan.
Their contributions underscored the importance of civil registration in national development and governance. The convention featured a series of workshops, panel discussions, and keynote addresses focused on key topics such as digital transformation in civil registration, data privacy and security, and strategies for improving the accessibility of registration services. Attendees also had the opportunity to engage in collaborative sessions aimed at identifying innovative solutions to common challenges faced by LCRs.
One of the highlights of the event was the fellowship and awards night. This is to acknowledge the outstanding LCRs and staff who have demonstrated excellence in their field. These individuals were recognized for their dedication to ensuring accurate and timely civil registration, which is crucial for effective public administration and the safeguarding of citizens' rights.
The 3rd Regional Midyear Convention on Civil Registration concluded with a commitment to ongoing professional development, innovation, and the sharing of best practices.
