The Philippine Statistics Authority – Iloilo Provincial Statistical Office (IPSO) kicks off the 2023 National Information and Communications Technology Household Survey (NICTHS) this February 2024. This collaborative effort with the Department of Information and Communications Technology  (DICT) aims to gather up-to-date household and individual Information and Communications Technology (ICT) data necessary for generating internationally comparable core ICT indicators. The survey will play a crucial role in monitoring existing programs, developing projects, and formulating future policies and plans geared toward advancing ICT in the country.

The 2023 NICTHS will encompass various data elements, including demographics, access availability, usage and ownership of ICT, E-waste awareness and disposal practices, compliance with SIM card registration, participation in the digital economy/e-commerce, and experience with technology-enabled incidents, among others.

The third level training for the 2023 NICTHS for 10 hired personnel, consisting of 8 enumerators and 2 team supervisors, was held on January 29 to February 1, 2024, in preparation for the personal interview of 388 households from 25 barangays in the Province of Iloilo and 397 households from 29 barangays in the City of Iloilo. The enumeration period commenced on February 5, 2024 and is set to culminate on March 6, 2024.

In line with this, the PSA encourages all the sample households, individuals, and barangays to participate in the 2023 NICTHS by providing truthful information.
