On January 31, 2024, the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) data of the Municipality of Tubungan was successfully turned over to the local government. The ceremonial activity commenced at the Community Learning Center of the municipality. This activity was made possible and transpired as a result of the collaborative efforts of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Iloilo and the local government of Tubungan.

The following distinguished LGU and PSA officials graced the event: Municipal Mayor Hon. Roquito G. Tacsagon, Municipal Vice Hon. Leo Cezar T. Taypen, OIC Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Joemarie Tagat, EnP. , Municipal Accessor and Data Protection Officer Tomas Estardo, PSA RSSO VI (Chief Statistical Specialist) Officer-in-Charge Nelida C. Amolar, and PSA Iloilo (Supervising Statistical Specialist) Officer-in-Charge Ma. Gorretti M. Novilla. Also in attendance were the Department Heads and other PSA and LGU personnel.

Opening the ceremony, RSSO VI Officer-in-Charge Nelida C. Amolar expressed her sincere gratitude to the local government unit of Tubungan for accepting the challenge and for providing full funding for the CBMS operations in the municipality. Additionally, OIC Amolar stated that the data gathered from CBMS will be used by the LGU to create policies and programs that are more responsive to the needs of the municipality.

A total of 48 barangays in Tubungan were covered in the CBMS operations, with 5,608 responding households and 21,377 individuals covered. Senior Statistical Specialist Stephen C. Araña presented the highlights of the results, which included data on basic services such as electricity, internet, water, toilet facilities, safety, food insecurity, and disaster preparedness, among others.

Hon. Municipal Mayor Roquito G. Tacsagon delivered his acceptance message and thanked everyone who made the CBMS implementation possible in their municipality. He emphasized that with the CBMS data, they would be guided in terms of policymaking and program implementation. Also, he added that with the help of the CBMS data, they will achieve their goals and visions for their municipality.
