Negros Occidental’s September 2024 Inflation Rate for all income household declined to 3.2 percent compared to previous month’s rate at 4.6 percent and against September 2023 with 7.6 percent (Please see Figure 1). Almost all of the commodities noted to have a negative annual growth rate like; Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco, Housing/Water/Electricity/Gas & Other Fuels, Furnishing/Household Equipment and Routine Maintenance, Transport, Recreation/Sports and Culture, Education Services, Restaurants and Accommodation Services, and Personal Care and Miscellaneous Goods & Services. While Clothing and Footwear exhibits a slight increase.

The indices of the rest of the commodities retained their previous months annual growth rates.

In Bacolod City, Inflation Rate for All Income Households also exhibited a decrease to 3.9 percent from 5.7 percent in August 2024 and against September 2023 with 6.4 percent. (See Figure 2.).

The decline in inflation rate was attributed by a slight decrease in the indices of some commodities like; Food & Non- Alcoholic Beverages, Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco, Housing/Water/Electricity/Gas and Other FuelsFurnishings/Household Equipment & Routine Household Maintenance, Health, Transport, Education Services, and Personal Care and Miscellaneous Goods & Services.

Relative to their annual rates in the previous month, higher inflation rates were observed in the indices of the following commodities: Clothing & Footwear, and Recreation/Sports & Culture. 

The indices of the rest of the commodities retained their previous months annual growth rates.
