Negros Occidental’s Inflation Rate for all income household exhibits a slight decrease to 4.5 percent compared to previous month’s rate at 4.8 percent and against August 2023 with 7.9 percent (Please see Figure 1). Some commodities noted to have a negative annual growth rate like; Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, Transport, and Education Services. While, Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco, Clothing & Footwear, Housing/Water/Electricity/Gas & Other Fuels, Health, and Recreation/Sports & Culture, and Restaurants and Accommodation Services manifest a positive growth rate in August 2024.

The indices of the rest of the commodities retained their previous months annual growth rates.

In Bacolod City, Inflation Rate for All Income Households also exhibited a decrease to 5.6 percent from 6.2 percent in July 2024 and against August 2023 with 5.7 percent. (See Figure 2.).

The decline in inflation rate was attributed by a slight decrease in the indices of some commodities like; Food & Non- Alcoholic Beverages,Transport, and Education Services.

Relative to their annual rates in the previous month, higher inflation rates were observed in the indices of the following commodities: Clothing & Footwear, Housing/Water/Electricity/Gas and Other Fuels, Furnishings/Household Equipment & Routine Household Maintenance, Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco, Health, Information & Communication, Recreation/Sports & Culture, Restaurants & Accommodation Services and Personal Care and Miscellaneous Goods & Services.

The indices of the rest of the commodities retained their previous months annual growth rates
