Inflation rate of Antique decelerates further to -2.2 percent in June 2025, from -1.3 percent in May 2025. The recorded inflation rate in June 2024 was significantly higher at 5.8 percent.

The June 2025 provincial inflation rate was lower as compared to the national and regional inflation rates. The inflation rate in the Philippines slightly increased to 1.4 percent in June 2025, from 1.3 percent in May 2025. The national inflation rate in June 2024 was recorded at 3.7 percent. Further, the inflation rate in Western Visayas slowed down to 0.6 percent in June 2025, from 1.5 percent in May 2025. The inflation rate in Western Visayas in June 2024 was recorded at 4.8 percent.

The continuous deceleration in price levels of the province in June 2025 was mainly influenced by the shift in price indices of Food and non-alcoholic beverages at -4.1 percent in June 2025, from -3.2 percent in May 2025; Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels at -2.7 percent in June 2025, from 0.8 percent in May 2025; and, Personal care, and miscellaneous goods and services at 0.8 in June 2025, from 2.7 percent in May 2025. 

Further, price index for Information and communication exhibited a downward trend at -0.1 percent in June 2025, from 0.0 percent in May 2025.

Moreover, higher annual increments were recorded for the indices of the following commodity groups:

a.    Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, 1.6 percent;
b.    Transport, -3.4 percent;
c.    Recreation, sport and culture, 4.0 percent; and,
d.    Education services, 2.0 percent.

The indices for the following commodity groups, however, showed no changes from its last month’s inflation rate:

a.    Clothing and footwear, 2.6 percent;
b.    Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance, 2.5 percent;
c.    Health, 1.8 percent; and,
d.    Financial services, 0.0 percent.

The recorded inflation rate for food in the province of Antique decelerates further at -4.5 percent in June 2025, from -3.5 percent in May 2025. The food commodity group with the highest share to food inflation was Fish and other seafood at 6.5 percent in June 2025, from 9.2 percent in May 2025.

Further, downtrends on price indices were also observed for the following commodity groups:

a.    Cereals and cereal products, 18.6 percent;
b.    Meat and other parts of slaughtered land animals, 4.1 percent;
c.    Milk, other dairy products and eggs, 3.9 percent;
d.    Vegetables, tubers, plantains, cooking bananas and pulses, -3.2 percent; and,
e.    Ready-made food and other food products, n.e.c., 1.7 percent.

Moreover, higher annual increments were observed for the indices of the following food commodity group:

a.    Fruits and nuts, 6.1 percent; and,
b.    Sugar, confectionery and desserts, 1.9 percent.

The price index for the Oils and fats food commodity group remained unchanged at 0.2 percent in June 2025.
