Inflation rate in Antique records to -1.7 percent in July 2025, from -2.2 percent in June 2025. The recorded inflation rate in July 2024 was significantly higher at 6.3 percent.
The July 2025 provincial inflation rate was lower as compared to the national and regional inflation rates for the same month. The inflation rate in the Philippines slowed down to 0.9 percent in July 2025, from 1.4 percent in June 2025. The national inflation rate in July 2024 was recorded at 4.4 percent. Further, the inflation rate in Western Visayas showed no changes and recorded to 0.6 percent in July 2025, the same with last month’s inflation rate. The inflation rate in Western Visayas in July 2024 was recorded at 4.5 percent.
The deceleration in the price levels of the province in July 2025 was mainly influenced by the shift in price indices of Food and non-alcoholic beverages at -3.1 percent in July 2025, from -4.1 percent in June 2025; Clothing and footwear at 4.2 percent in July 2025, from 2.6 percent in June 2025; and, Transport at -2.7 percent in July 2025, from -3.4 percent in June 2025.
Further, higher annual increment were also recorded for the indices of the following commodity groups:
a. Alcoholic beverages and tobacco, 2.0 percent;
b. Information and communication, 0.0 percent;
c. Education services, 1.4 percent; and,
d. Personal care, and miscellaneous goods and services, 1.0 percent.
Moreover, prices indices for the following commodity groups exhibited downward trends:
a. Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, -3.3 percent; and,
b. Recreation, sport and culture, 2.3 percent.
The indices for the following commodity groups, however, showed no changes from its last month’s inflation rate:
a. Furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance, 2.5 percent;
b. Health, 1.8 percent;
c. Restaurants and accommodation services, 2.5 percent; and,
d. Financial services, 0.0 percent.
The recorded inflation rate for food in the province of Antique recorded to -3.4 percent in July 2025, from -4.5 percent in June 2025. The food commodity group with the highest share to food inflation was Cereals and cereal products, especially the rice, at -16.2 percent in July 2025, from -18.6 percent in June 2025; and, Fish and other seafood at 9.0 percent at July 2025, from 6.5 percent in June 2025.
Further, downtrends on price indices were observed for the following food commodity groups:
a. Meat and other parts of slaughtered land animals, 2.7 percent;
b. Milk, other dairy products and eggs, 3.5 percent;
c. Fruits and nuts, 4.7 percent;
d. Vegetables, tubers, plantains, cooking bananas and pulses, -4.1 percent;
e. Sugar, confectionery and desserts, 1.6 percent; and,
f. Ready-made food and other food products n.e.c., 1.3 percent.
The price index for the Oils and fats food commodity group remained unchanged at 0.2 percent in June 2025.
