Statistical Analyst Joevilyn S. Ariesga administering the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS questionnaire to a citizen of Bacolod City.

08 MAY 2025 – NEGROS OCCIDENTAL. As the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – Negros Occidental nears the completion of the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS), Interim Regional Director and Concurrent Chief Statistical Specialist John F. Campomanes strongly calls on all residents to actively participate in this nationwide initiative.

In a recent statement, IRD Campomanes underscored the critical importance of the undertaking, asserting that “participation in the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS is not merely encouraged—it is a civic duty of every Filipino household.” He further emphasized that the census would yield updated and reliable demographic data, which is essential for accurately identifying beneficiaries of key government social protection programs.

“The data gathered from the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS will serve as a cornerstone for evidence-based policymaking. It will guide the development of more effective and targeted government initiatives, ultimately enhancing the delivery of services across all communities,” IRD Campomanes added.

He reiterated that fulfilling the requirements of the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS is a fundamental responsibility of every citizen. Households in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City that have not yet participated are strongly encouraged to contact the PSA – Negros Occidental through their official communication channels, as listed below.
