April 29, 2025 KALIBO, AKLAN --- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Aklan announces the conduct of the 2024 Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (ASPBI), with a rider survey on the 2024 Survey on Information and Communications Technology (SICT), starting April 2025. These nationwide surveys aim to provide essential information on the performance, levels, structure, and trends of economic activities in the country.
The ASPBI is one of the PSA’s designated statistical activities conducted annually. It serves as an indicator for the measurement and comparison of the country’s economic growth at the national and regional levels. The survey will collect information on basic characteristics of the establishments, employment, revenue, expenses, assets and inventories. These will provide valuable inputs for policymakers, government planners, researchers, and the business sector in formulating policies and strategies to foster national development.
Alongside the ASPBI, the PSA will also administer the 2024 SICT, which aims to measure the availability, distribution, and use of information and communications technologies among establishments. Data on computer usage, internet connection, website ownership, and the adoption of digital platforms and technologies will be collected to assess the country’s progress toward digital transformation.
Four (4) hired statistical researchers and three (3) provincial staff were tasked to locate and administer ASPBI questionnaires on 296 sample establishments across Aklan and 178 of them will also answer the SICT questionnaire. These were selected private establishments operating in the formal and informal sectors across various industries—such as but not limited to, agriculture, manufacturing, trade, finance, real estate, transportation, and services.
Selected establishments are enjoined to provide complete and accurate information. All data furnished to the PSA will be held strictly confidential as provided under Republic Act No. 10625 (The Philippine Statistical Act of 2013) and Republic Act No. 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012).
