SAN JOSE, Antique The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Antique, in collaboration with the Department of Energy (DOE) is currently conducting the  2023 Household Energy Consumption Survey (HECS).

387 sample households in the province will be visited by four (4) Statistical Researchers for a computer-aided personal interview (CAPI) from June 17 to July 19, 2024.

 

The HECS is a is stand-alone survey that gathers information on household’ utilization of fuels, supply systems, patterns of energy use, and other indicators that may be useful to assess the current energy profile of different households and communities in the country. The data collected from this survey shall provide the DOE with updated and reliable data for an effective household energy strategy for the Philippines.

The 2023 HECS is a major component of the project, Comprehensive Regional Energy Study in the Philippines (CRESP) which entails formulation of a comprehensive energy study by region that will comprise analysis, assessment, and recommendation based on the information gathered through quantitative data research on profile of energy consumption, fuel and technology preferences, public issues and concerns on energy services and perception, and awareness on energy related policies, programs, and projects. As a major component of the CRESP, the 2023 HECS will be conducted to collect the data and information needed to serve as inputs to CRESP. Also, The collected data will be used by government planners, policy makers, and administrators in formulating energy-related social and economic development plans, policies, and programs. 

 

 

In line with this, the PSA enjoins all sample households to support and participate in the said survey by providing truthful information.  As in all other data gathering activities of PSA, all data collected through this survey are strictly confidential as stipulated by Section 26 of RA 10625 or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013.
