From Caluya’s main island to its farthest and most remote island of Liwagao, the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration teams of PSA Antique went around Antique’s northern-most island municipality to give the residents the opportunity to register to PhilSys at no cost and without leaving their island abodes so that they can also reap the benefits of having a free, non-expiring, valid and sufficient proof of identity in their transactions.

From 17 to 24 May, the registration teams, in full force, visited about 25 identified areas covering several islands all over the municipality. School buildings, barangay halls and other government facilities were being used as makeshift registration centers that would cater the residents until the evenings to maximize the availability of registration facilities.
About 35,000 residents of Caluya were already registered to PhilSys through the invaluable assistance being provided by the Local Government Unit led by Mayor Rigil Kent G. Lim with Municipal Civil Registrar Nini Yap-Pagayonan as the PhilSys Municipal Focal Person facilitating the municipality-wide registration operation that also includes distribution and authentication of PhilID/ePhilID.
Barangay officials were also instrumental to the successful conduct of PhilSys registration in the municipality that involves several sea travels, costly transportation of personnel and equipment, and several logistic challenges posed by unpredictable weather condition, limited means and availability of transportation, and far-flung and scattered island communities.
Despite all of these, PSA remains committed to implement an inclusive identification system and more convenient delivery of government and private services to the people through the PhilID/ePhilID.
