The Philippine Statistics Authority – Antique (PSA Antique), in celebration the National Women’s Month, facilitated a gift-giving and coastal clean-up activity on 13 and 14 March, respectively. These initiatives are the regular social responsibility activities of PSA Antique being conducted at least every quarter in partnership with local communities with the aim of making a big difference through small action.
On 13 March, PSA Antique distributed various essential items, including canned goods, biscuits, noodles and a sack of rice, to the children of Pagsapupo Center. The event aimed to bring joy and support to the community, specifically, to the 12 children from the center.
On 14 March, together with Barangay Funda-Dalipe officials and other volunteers, PSA Antique personnel combed the entire length of Taringting coastline to find and gather all forms of marine pollutants - from plastic food containers and straws to discarded clothing, fish nets and diapers. More than 10 sacks of these trash were gathered by the group and brought to the recycling facility for further sorting and disposal.
