Hired Statistical Researchers with PSA Antique personnel during the Third Level Training on 2025 Livestock and Poultry Production Survey last 24 to 25 March.
To generate estimates on supply, disposition, average farmgate price, and other related data of livestock and poultry commodities at the household level and from establishments, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Antique conducted the 2025 Livestock and Poultry Surveys (LPS) for the First Quarter. There are two surveys for LPS; these are Backyard LPS and Commercial LPS.
Carabao production increased by 7.7 percent, registering at 1,392 metric tons in 2024. Meanwhile, Hog production also grew by 3.0 percent with 14,124 metric tons volume of production.
Moreover, Cattle production was estimated at 3,678 metric tons in 2024, declined by 5.8 percent compared to 3,904 metric tons in 2023. Similarly, Goat production decreased by 2.4 percent, from 375 metric tons in 2023 to 366 metric tons in 2024.
In 2024, the volume of production of Chicken, Chicken Egg, and Duck increased compared to 2023. Chicken production grew by 4.1 percent with 3,409 metric tons, Chicken Egg production was estimated at 2,538 metric tons in 2024, increased by 2.3 percent compared to 2,481 metric tons in 2023. Similarly, Duck production grew by 12.8 percent, from 83 metric tons in 2023 to 94 metric tons in 2024.
On the contrary, production of Duck eggs reached 526 metric tons or a decrease of 5.1 percent.
The enumeration is currently ongoing LPS household from April 1 to 9, and LPS establishment was conducted last March 20-31. The data collection is conducted through face-to-face interview by SRs utilizing Computer-Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI).
