15 March 2024 – NEGROS OCCIDENTAL. The Philippine Statistics Authority officially opens its Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) services to children 1-4 Years Old nationwide.
Previously, the PhilSys Step 2 Registration was limited to children 5 years old and over. However, recent developments to the PhilSys have allowed the linking of the PhilSys Number of the parents and children 1 to 4 years of age. Thus, allowing more Filipinos to enjoy the benefits for the National ID.
Chief Statistical Specialist John F. Campomanes considers this major update to PhilSys as very timely since the Philippine Statistics Authority – Negros Occidental has partnered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development in the conduct of PhilSys Mobile Registration Drives in the different Local Government Units within the province, where they move from one barangay to another to deliver services including, but not limited to, PhilSys Step 2 Registration and ePhilID issuance. Beneficiaries may take advantage of this co-location strategy and register their family members.
Consequently, due to the high influx of registrants coming to the PhilSys Mobile Registration Drives, temporary closures of the PhilSys Registration Centers outside Bacolod City may be experienced from Monday to Friday but shall resume operations every Saturday.
The following PhilSys Registration Centers shall remain open daily to serve the public: PhilSys Fixed Registration Center, CRS Outlet Bacolod City, Ayala Malls Capitol Central, SM City Bacolod, Robinson’s Place Bacolod, Gaisano Grand Central, and Gaisano Grand Silay City.
