19 February 2024 - BACOLOD CITY NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL. The Philippine Statistics Authority - Negros Occidental in coordination with the School Division of Bacolod City - Department of Education hosted a Seminar on Basic Concepts and Updates on Civil Registration as part of the celebration of 35th Civil Registration Month with the theme "Building a Resilient, Agile and Future-fit Civil Registration System”.

The seminar was conducted by Mr.Edwin P.Guiking, Registration Officer II of the Philippine Statistics Authority. As resource speaker, he enhanced the knowledge of Elementary School Registrars regarding civil registration and vital statistics.

Attendees were given the chance to address concerns about civil registry documents such as birth, marriage, and death certificates. Specifically, they were oriented how errors in civil registry documents, especially birth certificates of their students, may be corrected. He shared his experiences at the PSA outlet regarding issues related to civil registry documents.

Supervising Statistical Specialist, Diesah S. Biaoco expressed gratitude to the School Division of Bacolod City - Department of Education for their support that made the event successful. She also thanked the Principal IV of Bacolod City National High School, Richard M. Gelangre, PhD for giving the introductory remarks and providing the venue.  Lastly, she cited the attendees who shared valuable time for the event.
