National ID Provincial Focal Person Aira Camille de la Banda discusses the National ID Salient Features at Handumanan National High School during the National ID School Activation.

 

18 March 2025 – HANDUMANAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLThe Philippine Statistics Authority Negros Occidental has partnered with the Division of Bacolod City and holds its first ever school activation of the year at Handumanan National High School on March 18, 2025.

The School Activation is one of the several program initiatives of the agency in promoting the Republic Act 11055, known as the Philippine Identification System or the National ID. PSA Negros Occidental also invited the neighboring schools—Handumanan Elementary School I and Handumanan Elementary School II for a broader range of information dissemination. Parents and Teachers Association (PTA), school faculty and staff, SSLG Officers, and representatives from various school clubs assembled at the school’s Audio-Visual Room (AVR) to witness the informational presentation, while students from different levels and some school staff joined the concurrent PhilSys Step 2 Registration.

Mr. Richelieu S. Rojas, Head Teacher IV of Handumanan National High School, welcomed the personnel of PSA Negros Occidental warmly in his introductory remarks. Aira Camille de la Banda, Regular National ID Provincial Focal Person, shared valuable information about the National ID various formats and benefits. She highlighted that different format of the national ID—National ID card, National ID in Paper Form, and Digital National ID are now recognized as valid proof of identity in all transactions, both public and private. She also discussed the salient features of the National ID. Furthermore, she illustrated to the public audience how to access and download the digital National ID in just a tap on your fingertips. Maria Cristina Armamento, Registration Officer II, was also present at the school activation activity and facilitated the entire registration process for the National ID and made sure that it would be well-ordered and prompt.

At the conclusion of the event, Ms. Diesah S. Biaoco, Supervising Statistical Specialist, awarded the certificate of appreciation to the three schools that participated in the event.  She formally closed the program with a grateful message for the school’s active involvement and expressed her strong optimism for solid support from all schools in the Division of Bacolod City.

The PSA National ID Team will continue to cater registrants on school grounds until Wednesday, March 19, 2025, as the school activation draws to a close. This is to continuously offer interested students and school staff National ID services, such as National ID registration, tracking, ePhilID printing, and verification.

PSA Negros Occidental anticipates additional school activations in the upcoming months and believes that this year's is just the first of many that will yield positive results.
