12 September 2024 – City of Bacolod. The ongoing operation of 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System (POPCEN-CBMS) nationwide aims to update population statistics at the local and national level and update social registries for beneficiary targeting. Also, to aid in city/municipal level evidence-based planning and project implementation. Its enumeration unit covers all households, housing units, institutional living quarters, temporary shelter and homeless.

With this, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Negros Occidental in coordination with Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Mobile Patrol Unit, conducted its 2024 Midnight Census which aims to cover the population count of homeless individuals that would contribute in the future plans and programs of Bacolod City.
The operation was composed of two teams; Team A, covering areas from Bacolod Public Plaza and Cathedral area, the streets of Rizal, Cuadra, Araneta, Magsaysay, Lizares, Hernaez, Locsin, Luzuriaga, and Lopez Jaena. Team B covered the area from Circumferential road, Bacolod City Government Center, BS Aquino drive, Capitol Park and Lagoon, the streets of San Juan, Gatuslao, Gonzaga Street, Mabini, and Lopez Jaena.
This successful operation of the 2024 Midnight Census has surveyed 91 males and 36 females totaling to 127 homeless individuals. Through the collaborative efforts of PSA and BCPO Mobile Patrol Unit, the 2024 POPCEN-CBMS Midnight Census was a success.
The PSA-Negros Occidental is requesting the public to support the ongoing 2024 POPCEN-CBMS to ensure no one will be left behind by participating in this undertaking, welcome the PSA Enumerators, and provide truthful and accurate information. The public is assured that all information collected is treated with the utmost confidentiality and in compliance with Data Protection laws, rules, and regulations.
