23 July 2024 – KABANKALAN CITY, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL. The Philippine Statistics Authority and the Local Government Unit of Kabankalan City convened in a consultative meeting on the establishment of the proposed Local Government Unit – Managed Civil Registry System (LGU-managed CRS) Outlet in the city on 23 July 2024 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall of the City of Kabankalan. 

 

During the meeting, Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General of the PSA, led the delegates of agency along with Assistant National Statistician Engr. Marizza B. Grande and Chief Statistical Specialist John F. Campomanes. Similarly, Hon. Mayor Benjie M. Miranda and City Civil Registrar Monalisa D. Tabujara stood for the Local Government Unit of Kabankalan City.

 

The conference was held to discuss the key aspects to be considered should the proposed LGU-managed CRS Outlet be approved. ANS Grande discussed the salient points, including the technical requirements and the official obligations of both the PSA and the LGU of Kabankalan City once the outlet is established. 

 

Likewise, an ocular site visit was conducted by the PSA Civil Registration and Central Support Office team headed by ANS Grande to assess the proposed sites for the CRS outlet.

As cited by Usec. Mapa, the opening of the LGU-managed CRS Outlet marks another milestone of the PSA towards building the nation starting at the grassroots. He also highlighted that Filipinos from the City of Kabankalan and adjacent cities and municipalities shall benefit the convenience of better accessibility to civil registration services of the PSA given the strategic location of the proposed LGU-Managed CRS Outlet.
