Livestock production in Western Visayas for the first quarter of 2023 generally increased compared with the same quarter last year. Carabao production estimated at 3.89 thousand metric tons grew by 0.28 percent against last year’s production. Cattle production went up by 1.83 percent in the first quarter of 2022, at 4.70 thousand metric tons from 4.62 thousand metric tons. Estimated Hog production was recorded at 52.88 thousand metric tons, an increase of 7.80 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
