30 June 2024 – GUIMARAS. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office reached 51.51 % of the 10,760 thousand target registrations for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) in 2024.
From January to June, PhilSys registered a total of 5,543 individuals in the province of Guimaras.
“We extend our deepest appreciation to the general public for their unwavering support for the implementation of PhilSys in Guimaras,” said Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B Losare.
“PSA field offices like us in Guimaras, is still exerting all efforts to ensure coverage of Filipinos who have not yet registered.”
In Guimaras, personnel utilized motorcycles to cross rough roads and motorboats to cross islands to reach Geographically-Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAs) for the conduct of PhilSys mobile registration.
Losare expounded that PhilSys on wheels house-to-house Registration are some of the PhilSys Guimaras registration initiatives which also helped residents who do not have the financial means nor the time to go to the Fixed Registration Center (FRC) to register to PhilSys.
“I believe that this is also a big help especially for those parents with unregistered children ages 1-4 years old,” Losare said.
Losare also elaborated that Guimaras PSA personnel endured the scorching hot of the sun in summer and even patiently took the muddy road with their motorcycle this rainy season while carrying registration kits to register residents, particularly from low-income households.
“The efforts likewise allowed unregistered individuals in Guimaras including Indigenous Peoples (IPs) to become PhilSys-registered”, Losare said.
Meanwhile, the PSA Guimaras also continue the ePhilIDs issuance and distribution operations for this can also be used as valid proof of identity while waiting for the PhilID physical card.
“From January to June 2024, the cumulative ePhilID delivered was at 1,931”, Losare said.
“All these efforts of PSA Guimaras towards the implementation of PhilSys in Guimaras underscores their commitment of ensuring that all registered individuals have access to reliable and secure National ID services across the province,” Losare said.
