In celebration of the 35th Civil Registration Month (CRM), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Guimaras organized the 35th Civil Registration Month (CRM) Quiz Bee, bringing together Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) from across the province in a test of knowledge on civil registration laws, and processes.

The quiz bee was one of the highlights during the 35th CRM Opening program at the Nueva Valencia Municipal Hall. The competition featured participants from the five municipalities, who showcased their expertise in birth, marriage, and death registration procedures, legal frameworks, and the significance of accurate civil records in governance and public service.

After an intense battle of wits, Michael C. Esprago of Jordan LCRO claimed the championship title, while the runner-up positions were secured by Sherel F. Labaro and Elisa M. Elefan, demonstrating their proficiency in civil registration matters.

“The top 3 winners were given certificates of recognition, with corresponding cash prizes of Php3,000, Php2,000, and Php1,000, respectively,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.

“Moreover, the other two participants received certificates of participation and consolation prizes of Php500 each,” she added.

Esprago, and Laboro, the first and second-place winners, will represent the Province of Guimaras in the regional-level quiz bee competition, one of the regional activities commemorating the 35th CRM.

“The said contest is vital in reinforcing the knowledge and commitment of LCROs in providing accurate and efficient civil registration services,” Losare said

“This quiz bee is not just a competition; it is an opportunity to deepen our understanding of civil registration, which plays a crucial role in ensuring every citizen's legal identity and access to public services,” she said.

The CRM Quiz Bee is one of the many activities lined up for the month-long celebration of the 35th CRM this 2025, reflecting PSA and LCROs’ dedication to enhancing civil registration awareness and service delivery in Guimaras.
