27 February 2025- Guimaras. Young Guimarasnons showcased their artistic and literary talents as the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Guimaras in partnership with the 5 Local Civil Registry Offices in the province, concluded the 35th Civil Registration Month (CRM) activities on February 26, 2025, held at the OMAS Function Hall, Poblacion, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.

Participants displayed exceptional artistry, literary talents, and performing skills through Poster Making, Binalaybay, and Interpretative Dance of the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Jingle entitled “Masasagot.”

The Poster Making Contest was participated in by elementary students, while the Junior and Senior High School students joined the Interpretative Dance and Binalaybay contests, respectively.

Student from Buenavista Central School, Miles M. Lamela won first place in the Poster Making Contest, and participants from Sabang Elementary School, Municipality of Sibunag, Chris Paul Jay O. Cordero, and San Roque Elementary School, Municipality of Nueva Valencia, Megan Grace Magno took the second and third places, correspondingly.

Students from Fiscal Jose M. Zambarrano Sr. Memorial School, Municipality of San Lorenzo, Zyanna A. Bitalac, and Jordan Central School, Marnhane Rogel G. Torres got the consolation prizes.

Binalaybay Contest champion Gabriel L. Degala was from Desiderio C. Gange National High School, Municipality of Sibunag; second placer Sharra Marie Pescadera was from Getulio National High School, Municipality of Buenavista; and the third placer Tryxia T. Gregorio was from Simeon J. Jabasa National High School, Municipality of Nueva Valencia, while students from Remedios E. Vilches-San Lorenzo National High School, Municipality of San Lorenzo, Precious Ashleigh G. Baling, and Sta. Teresa National High School of Jordan, Lloyd Shidear Graque, received the consolation prizes.

The title holders of Interpretative Dance were participants from the Nueva Valencia National High School, Sibunag National High School was declared second placer, Desiderio C. Gange National High School of San Lorenzo got the third place, and Getulio National High School of Buenavista was ranked fourth. Access

The top 3 winners of the interpretative dance received a certificate of recognition with cash prizes of PhP3,000, PhP2,000, and PhP1,500, respectively, and a PhP1,000 consolation prize for non-winners. Moreover, PhP2,000, PhP1,500, and PhP1,000 each were given to the top 3 winners of the Binalaybay and Poster-making contests, while PhP500 consolation prizes were given to other participants who fell short.

The panel of judges who evaluated the competition’s performances and entries, were Angel Babes Pauchano, Project Development Officer II from the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), Nelida B. Losare, Provincial Statistics Officer from PSA- Guimaras, and Mark Kelly R. Zaldivar, Teacher III from Jordan National High School.

The Nueva Valencia Municipal Mayor Atty. Paul Vincent G. de la Cruz graced the culminating activities, welcomed all the participants, and commended the PSA Guimaras and 5 LCROs of Guimaras province for spearheading various activities for the month-long celebration of the 35th CRM.

PSO Losare delivered a message reaffirming the agency’s dedication to improving civil registration services in the province, raising awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of registering vital events, and developing self-confidence and sportsmanship among students.

"Building a Resilient, Agile, and Future-Fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System,” underscores our commitment to ensuring a responsive statistical system that supports the needs of every Filipino, also providing a platform for students to express and showcase their creativity and talents,” Losare emphasized in her message.

MCR Jesusa M. Millondaga of LCRO Jordan and president of the Guimaras Civil Registrars Association Inc. (GCRAI) delivered the closing remarks to close the month-long celebration of the 35th CRM in Guimaras. She thanked everybody, especially the teachers and students, for their active participation, PSA, and LCRO staff for doing the legwork and facilitating every activity. Special mentioning the Local Chief Executives of the five municipalities for supporting and providing funds for the LCROs' activities.

PSA-Guimaras extends its heartfelt appreciation to all contestants, local government partners, schools, and stakeholders for their invaluable support in making the 35th CRM celebration a meaningful one.

“We will remain committed to promoting a resilient and future-ready civil registration system for all Guimarasnons,” Losare said.
