04 March- Guimaras. Poster Making, Binalaybay, and Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Jingle Dance Contest entitled "Masasagot" enlivens the 34th Civil Registration Month (CRM) culminating activity in the province of Guimaras on February 29, 2024, participated by the Elementary, High School, and Senior High students from the various public schools in Guimaras.
Schools that actively participated in the contests were Old Poblacion Elementary School, and Getulio National High School in Buenavista Municipality, Alaguisoc Elementary School, and Trinidad V. Canja Sta. Teresa National High School in Jordan Municipality, Nueva Valencia Central School, and Nueva Valencia National Highschool in the Municipality of Nueva Valencia, Sapal Elementary School, and Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Memorial High School in San Lorenzo Municipality, and Lininguan Central School, and Desiderio C. Gange National High School in Sibunag Municipality.
“The Binalaybay Contest was participated by Senior High students wherein their pieces focused on the year’s theme, “CRVS: The Future of Seamless Services” underscoring the agency’s steadfast commitment to promoting efficient Civil Registration and Vital Statistics services,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.
“Moreover, the high school student participants showcased their creativeness and innovativeness in portraying the message of the CRVS Jingle for CRM Jingle Dance Contest while elementary student contestants showed their creativity through the poster-making contest,” Losare added.
Kate Gabbriele Daraug from Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Memorial High School was declared champion in the Binalaybay contest, while Leira Janine L. Gange from Desiderio C. Gange National High School and Ian G. Aguilar from Getulio National High School bagged the 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.
For the CRVS Jingle Dance, Getulio National High School got first place, Desiderio C. Gange National High School was ranked 2nd and Nueva Valencia National High School got the 3rd prize.
Poster Making contest winners were Gershom Igonia from Alaguisoc Elementary School, Glaiza Gueen D. Igaras from Old Poblacion Elementary School, and Aaliyah Padernal from Sapal Elementary School, ranked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place correspondingly.
The top 3 winners of the CRVS Jingle dance received a certificate of award, and participation with a cash prize of PHP3,000, PHP2,000, and PHP1,500, respectively, and a PHP1,000 consolation prize for non-winners, while PHP2,000, PHP1,500 and PHP1,000 were given to the top 3 of contestants for Binalaybay and Poster making and PHP500 was given to other participants who fallen short.
PSO Losare commended the five MCRs of Guimaras and their staff for the successful conduct and participation in various CRM activities: the Opening and closing ceremonies hosted by Jordan; the Provincial, National, and Regional Quiz Bee competition; including the conduct of the mass weddings, mobile registrations, on her closing message.
“The 34th Civil Registration Month celebration may end but the PSA’s commitment to deliver efficient civil registration will continue,” Losare said.
Losare further expounded that through various activities conducted in February, we enhanced peoples’ awareness of the importance of Civil Registration, aligned with the CRVS decade goal, which we could not achieve without your support, help, and commitment.
“I positively hope to achieve the CRVS decade goal by the end of 2024 “tanan rehistrado, tanan my birth certificate” if we can complete the BCRS data processing as this will guide our LCROs to locate the unregistered individuals and will be targeted for a free mobile registration,” Losare said.
