• The population of Antique as of July 1, 2024 was 643,173 based on the results of 2024 Census of Population (POPCEN).
• The 2024 population is higher by 30,199 compared with the population of 612, 974 in 2020, and higher by 61,161 and 97,142 compared with 2015 and 2010, respectively. Refer to Table 1.

• Antique’s population increased by 1.16 percent annually, on average, from 2020 to 2024. By comparison, this growth rate is faster than at which the province grew from 2015 to 2024 at a rate of 1.13 percent, and 1.10 percent from 2015 to 2020.

• Of the province’s 18 municipalities, San Jose de Buenavista had the largest population in 2024 with 69,522 persons. The other top four municipalities include Sibalom (67,155), Hamtic (54,455), Culasi (46,442) and Caluya (42,895). The combined population of these five (5) municipalities accounted for 43.6 percent of Antique population in 2024.

• Belison was the smallest municipality in terms of population size with 14,433 persons. Two other municipalities did not hit the 20 thousand population, namely Libertad (18,685) and Sebaste (19,365).
• The municipality of Caluya was the fastest growing municipality with an average annual population growth rate (PGR) of 2.37 percent. It was also the fastest growing municipality at an average growth rate of 2.14 percent from 2015-2024. The second fastest growing municipalities with an average annual population growth rate at 1.57 percent from 2020 to 2024 were the municipalities of San Jose, Libertad and Barbaza, followed by San Remigio at 1.46 percent, Laua-an at 1.41 percent and Sibalom at 1.22 percent.

• The province has 590 barangays. Of these barangays Semirara in Caluya where coal mining industry is located was the largest barangay in terms of population in 2024 with 15, 954 persons, followed by Funda-Dalipe, San Jose (7,110) and Poblacion, Patnongon (6,248). Below is the table for top ten most populous barangays in Antique.

• This count has been declared official for all purposes by the President of the Philippines through Proclamation No. 973 dated 11 July 2025, pursuant to Republic Act No. 10625, or the Philippine Statistical Act of 2013, and Executive Order No. 87, s. 2025. These mandate the conduct of periodic censuses to provide government planners, policymakers, and administrators with essential data for crafting social and economic development plans and programs.
• Information on the count of the population was collected with 12:01 a.m. of 1 July 2024 as the census reference time and date. It also includes Filipinos in Philippine embassies, consulates, and missions abroad.
• The successful completion of the census-taking was made possible with the support of the local and national officials, government agencies, local government units, media, private agencies, and non-government organizations.
• The Philippine Statistics Authority Antique Provincial Statistical Office would like to extend grateful appreciation and commendation for the full support, cooperation and assistance of the member-agencies of the Provincial Census-CBMS Coordination Board chaired by the Provincial Governor, Municipal Census-CBMS Coordination Board with Municipal Mayor as the Chairman, all local and national agencies, the Barangay Officials, media, Non-government organizations/agencies, the Supervisors and Enumerators who are the frontliners of this undertaking, all households, institutions and general public who made the census in the province a resounding and meaningful success.
