CALUYA, Antique – A total of 1,820 residents of Semirara and Caluya Islands were registered in the National ID System.

The Philippine Statistics Authority - Antique, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of the Municipality of Caluya, conducted a National ID registration initiative in Semirara and Caluya Islands from 04 to 16 November.

Semirara and Caluya Islands are one of the most remote areas in the province, where access to essential services can be challenging. By bringing the National ID registration directly to these communities, PhilSys Antique ensured that residents could register without the burden of long-distance travel.

Additionally, PhilSys Antique team also conducted “Rehistro Bulilit”, focused on registering children ages 1-4 in the National ID system.

Through this initiative, residents of Semirara and Caluya Islands were given the opportunity to register to the National ID that facilitates access to numerous government and private sector services, including banking, healthcare, social assistance, and more.

Futhermore, Barangay LGU of Semirara led by Kap Catherine "Kikai" Lim, supported the PhilSys team throughout the two-week registration initiative, ensuring  smooth operations and maximizing community reach.

The registration initiative concluded with enthusiasm and gratitude from residents, many of whom appreciated the convenience and the potential benefits that the National ID provides for a wide range of services.
