The total fisheries production of Western Visayas in the fourth quarter of 2022 was estimated at 77,334 metric tons. The production decreased by 11.19 percent or about 9,747 metric tons less from the same quarter of 2021’s reported volume of production. The decrease was attributed to the municipal and aquaculture fisheries sectors with 25.70 percent and 14.62 percent negative growth rates, respectively. On the other hand, commercial fisheries increased by 40.58 percent.

(PSA RSSO VI) spearheaded the conduct of 27th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Regional Championship of Western Visayas at District 21 Hotel, Iloilo City on 10 November 2023. The contest was held simultaneously in 16 other regions in the country.
In recognition of all the efforts of the National Statistics Month (NSM)
participating organizations and individuals, Western Visayas concluded the 34th NSM Celebration through a Closing and Awarding Ceremony at RDC Hall, NEDA Regional Office VI, Iloilo City on 26 October 2023. The ceremony was spearheaded by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Visayas Regional Office and Iloilo Branch and was attended by representatives of the Regional Statistics Committee (RSC), NSM member agencies, local government units, academe, media partners, private sectors, and winners of the different contest categories.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Antique Provincial Statistical Office held the 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Data Turnover Ceremonies (DTC) in different participating municipalities in Antique. The first DTC event in Western Visayas for the 2022 CBMS Implementation was in the Municipality of Belison, Antique, conducted on September 15, 2023. The Municipalities of Libertad, Sebaste, and Culasi also held their DTC events on October 11 and 12, 2023, respectively.

(PSA RSSO VI) hosted the Workshop on the Finalization of Non-benchmark Estimates for the Provinces and Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs) of the 16 Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) Pilot Regions in Iloilo City on 9 to 13 October 2023. The workshop was participated in by representatives from PSA Central Office and 16 regional offices nationwide except National Capital Region (NCR).

together with its Provincial Statistical Offices joined the 2nd Philippine Data Festival held on 03-04 October 2023 at Century Park Hotel, Metro Manila. The students and faculty from the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) also participated in the two-day event.
Western Visayas representative, Mr. Elfred John C. Abacan of University of the Philippines Visayas emerged as 2nd place during the 3rd PSA Quiz Bee National Finals on 05 October 2023 in Century Park Hotel, Metro Manila.
Western Visayas joins the nation in the month-long celebration of the 34th National Statistics Month (NSM) in October. The celebration kicked off with an opening ceremony spearheaded by the Department of Health (DOH) VI at SM City Iloilo Activity Center, Lower Ground Floor, Iloilo City on 04 October 2023 and was participated in by representatives of the Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) and NSM member agencies, local government units, academe, media partners, and private sectors.
