Spatial Distribution of Persons Who Are at a Higher Risk for COVID-19 Due to Age

Persons aged 60 years and above face a higher risk of contracting COVID-19 than persons belonging to other age groups. These at-risk individuals account for 8.7 percent (8.7%) of the Philippine population of 108.8 million as projected in July 2020. While these figures show that only a minority of the population is considered especially at risk in the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important that all of us, regardless of age, act in solidarity to prevent the further spread of the novel coronavirus.

The following interactive map is a spatial distribution showing figures on the country's older population, as categorized by sex and province.
