Population of Bacolod City (Based on the 2015 Census of Population)

  • Based on the 2015 Census of Population (POPCEN 2015), Bacolod City a highly urbanized city in the province of Negros Occidental, posted a total population of 561,875 persons as of August 1, 2015.
  • The population is larger by 50,055 persons compared to its total population of 511,820 counted in the 2010 Census of Population and Housing and 132,799 compared to its total population of 429,076 persons counted in 2000 CPH.

  • The increase in the population count from 2010-2015 translated to an average annual population growth rate (PGR) of 1.79 percent. The annual PGR between census years 2000-2010 recorded at 1.78 percent.

  • Among the 61 barangays comprising Bacolod City, barangay Mansilingan was the most populous with a population size making up 8.0 percent of the total population of the city. Estefania was the second with 7.3 percent shared, followed by Taculing with 7.1 percent, Tangub with 6.9 percent, Tangub with 6.9 percent, Villamonte with 6.5 percent, Singcang-Airport 6.0 percent, Bata with 5.1 percent, Banago with 5.0 percent, Handumanan with 4.9 percent and Granada with 4.8 percent. The rest of the barangays contributed less than 4.6 percent each. The least populated barangay was Barangay 24 (Pob.) with less than 0.1 percent share to the total population of the city. It was also the least populated barangay in 2010.
